What Hunters Say

★★★★★

This scope is top notch in build and quality, as well as ease of use and functionality. Excellent clarity and range, the buttons and functions are easy to work. The RAV is awesome and functions as it states. My first night with it I took a good coyote from 75 yards and it hit right where it should. Scope holds a zero for my 5.56 and the one shot zero works. The battery life is ridiculous and you may find yourself forgetting to charge it. I can hunt 4-5 nights in a row for several hours and still have some charge.

Best scope for the budget conscious. Easy to set up out of the box. Used on a recent trip to NC for hogs and worked great. Battery life was not an issue at all. Used a 458 Socom AR platform and the scope had no issues with the recoil from that round. Would recommend this scope to anyone looking for solid thermal performance without breaking the bank. The picture quality impressed me compared to scopes costing twice as much.

I purchased a second one after killing a feral hog the first time I went hunting. You will be pleased with the performance for the cost. Do yourself a favor and get the buttstock mounted battery pack. You can hunt all day or night with it. The standard batteries last a long time but the power pack kit is icing on the cake. Two scopes, two platforms, zero complaints about the detection range or image clarity on either one.

Purchased this scope for coyotes and the abl with it. First night out, saw a coyote, pressed the range finder button, showed 188 yards, took the shot. Dead on, everything worked. Took about 6 seconds start to finish, and the video was impressive. A year later, I loaned my rifle to my son-in-law to find his wounded deer after dark, and he found it right away. I called tech support for a firmware update and was taken care of personally. Going to buy a 640 next.

I love this scope. I was hog hunting at night with my ATN X Sight 2 which was an awesome scope but this Thor 4 is next level. The hogs cannot hide and follow-up shots come easy. The battery life is amazing. It lasts all night with power to spare. Customer service answered all my questions about mounting and accessories. The thermal sensitivity picks up game at distances that surprise me every time I take it out.

This thing is what I hoped it would be. It would be nice to have one of the higher-range models but for the price this does fine. Black hot works plenty well for me. White is not bad either. No problem seeing heat at 300 yards. Identifying game at 250-300 yards is straightforward in total darkness. Shot two holes through a quarter at 75 yards with .223 and put down a bunch of varmints. Mice visible at 150 yards crystal clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our scopes feature ATN's Gen 4 and next-gen thermal sensors operating at 60Hz refresh rates. The sensors detect animal heat signatures at long range and display images in HD resolution with multiple color palettes including Black Hot, White Hot, and full color modes.

Fire one round at your target, then use the digital reticle to mark where the shot landed. The scope adjusts the point of aim to match the point of impact. Most hunters are sighted in after a single adjustment, saving time and ammunition compared to traditional zeroing methods.

The ballistic calculator stores up to six ammo profiles and factors in range to target, angle, temperature, humidity, and ammo type. It adjusts your point of impact in real time so you can place shots accurately across varying distances and environmental conditions.

The Thor 4 models run 16-18+ hours on a single charge. The Thor LT provides 10+ hours of active use. Multiple reviewers report hunting 4-5 consecutive nights on a single charge. External battery packs are available for extended sessions.

The Thor 4 models record video at up to 60 FPS with recoil-activated recording. Footage stores on a Micro SD card up to 64GB. Dual-stream Wi-Fi lets you record and stream simultaneously without affecting scope performance.

All models use standard 30mm mount rings compatible with most rifle platforms. Quick detach mounts are available separately for hunters who need to switch between thermal and daytime optics. Weaver mounts are also supported on select models.

Detection range depends on the model and conditions. Reviewers consistently report seeing heat signatures at 300+ yards and positively identifying game at 250-300 yards in total darkness. The 60Hz sensor refresh rate enables fast target acquisition at distance.

The Thor LT weighs 1.4 pounds, making it one of the lightest thermal scopes available. The Thor 4 models weigh approximately 2.2 pounds. Both are designed to mount without making your rifle front-heavy or cumbersome during extended hunts.

All three scopes perform well for hog hunting. The Thor 4 models offer video recording and ballistic calculators for hunters who want full feature sets. The Thor LT provides excellent thermal detection at a lighter weight for hunters who prioritize mobility and quick target acquisition.

ATN provides a manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The Thor 4 Thermal Scope includes 3-year coverage. The MossyOak Thor 4 Smart HD includes 2-year coverage. Customer support is available for firmware updates and troubleshooting.

Reviewers have used these scopes in deep snow, blowing snow conditions, and full moonlight with no issues detecting animals. The aluminum construction handles temperature extremes. Cold weather can reduce battery life slightly, so carrying a charged battery pack is recommended for sub-zero hunts.

The Thor 4 models offer Black Hot, White Hot, and multiple color viewing palettes. The Thor LT provides White Hot and Black Hot modes. Most hunters prefer Black Hot or White Hot for game detection, switching between them based on ambient conditions and background contrast.
